Summer Success

We’ve had an enjoyable and very busy few weeks of Summer, with three new young ladies joining Sullivan’s Heroes for support with their home adaptations. Jordan, Natalie and Jessica and their families are all busy raising the funds needed to provide each of them with a new fully adapted bedroom and bathroom to meet their individual requirements.

And we’re delighted to bring news of our latest completed project to raise the £15,000 required to provide Elisha with a fully adapted bedroom with wetroom and through-floor lift to meet her needs. As Elisha’s Mum states “The adaptations have made a huge difference. We have created a home for life for Elisha”.

As well as the families we’re supporting undertaking numerous events over the summer to raise funds for their child’s home adaptations; we at Sullivan’s Heroes have also been out and about raising funds through our popular Jewellery & Gift Sales, including events at Dormansland Carnival and Turners Hill Fete.

Abi & Ben’s recent Rust2Rome adventure saw the intrepid duo not only successfully navigate the 4,500 miles from Edinburgh to Rome in just 9 days – but team SullyWagon and all its supporters raised a fantastic £1,476 towards home adaptation grants for the disabled children Sullivan’s Heroes is supporting.

Another intrepid adventurer, Lee Buller, has been training hard for his fundraising
challenge later in the year when he climbs the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro for Sullivan’s Heroes. Lee’s already completed the climb and descent of Snowdon in an impressive 3 hours and 50 minutes, which bodes well for the Kili climb in October.

We are excited too that John Lewis’ Community Matters programme is supporting Sullivan’s Heroes once again, in their Tunbridge Wells store, through to 31st October 2018. If you’re shopping there you can help us to raise funds for disabled children’s home adaptations, by popping your token in the Sullivan’s Heroes box.

Tickets are still available for our forthcoming ‘An Evening with Glenn Miller and Friends’ performed by The ConChord Big Band, which is being organised by Mid Sussex District Council and promises to be a most enjoyable evening.

Please do get in touch if you have any fundraising events, activities and ideas you’d like to share with us; or if you would like to apply for a grant or to fundraise through Sullivan’s Heroes.

Thank you for your ongoing support, it is greatly appreciated.
