A flying start to 2020

We hope that the new decade has begun well for you all. Sullivan’s Heroes’ 2020 has got off to a flying start thanks to greatly appreciated support from various generous sources – plus new applicants have taken our total to 73 children being supported to date with their home adaptation projects.

Fletcher’s family are busy raising the £10,000 needed to build ‘Fletcher’s new bedroom & bathroom’ for the 4 year old. Whilst ‘Numair’s bedroom and wetroom’ is challenging his family to raise the £14,500 needed for an accessible space for the 6-year old.

Meanwhile ‘Katy’s new bedroom and bathroom’ project is speeding towards the £55,000 target required with over 30% now raised to date, and many fundraising events planned by her family this month.

We’re delighted to have received generous funds this past month from a variety of avenues. Our friends at Pets Corner donated a fantastic £10,000 to help the disabled children
being supported, whilst our kind festive fundraisers over the Christmas period included Sharpthorne Carol Party and Worth School – raising £1,906 and £1,608 respectively.

Individual projects have seen a boost such as ‘A Space 4 Jakey’ receiving further funds from Legal and General together with new support from Sussex Services Lodge.

Plus, individual fundraisers have been busy supporting us with Christmas Card donated funds gratefully received of £285, whilst Ben Lippiett has been braving the recent stormy weather in his gruelling training for April’s London Marathon, with his mileage up to almost half marathon distance now!

Please do get in touch if you have any fundraising events, activities and ideas you’d like to share with us; or if you would like to apply for a grant or to fundraise through Sullivan’s Heroes.

Thank you for your ongoing support, it is greatly appreciated.
