New Season, New Projects

It’s been another busy few weeks for Sullivan’s Heroes, and we’re delighted to report we have further applicants being supported by the charity, taking our total to date of 37 children.

We’re also very excited to bring news of additional completed projects – the latest of these being to create a fully accessible bedroom and wetroom for Joe, plus access to his garden.

As Joe’s Mum states “Joe’s house adaptations have made a huge difference. We have been overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity – in under a year, the fundraising total reached over £23,000”.

Meanwhile, our intrepid adventurer, Lee Buller, is currently undertaking his mighty Mount Kilimanjaro challenge for Sullivan’s Heroes. Lee will be spending 7 days climbing 20,000 feet up Kili – with not much air at the top! We look forward to bringing news of his completed adventure in our next newsletter.

There’s still time to support Sullivan’s Heroes through John Lewis’ Community Matters programme, in their Tunbridge Wells store until 31st October 2018. If you’re shopping there you can help us to raise funds for disabled children’s home adaptations, by popping your token in the Sullivan’s Heroes box.

It’s been great to see Sullivan’s Heroes and our fabulous fundraisers being feature in Press articles – RHUncovered recently featured Abi & Ben’s Rust2Rome Challenge, which raised a fantastic £1,476 towards home adaptation grants for the disabled children Sullivan’s Heroes is supporting.

We are very much looking forward to our forthcoming ‘An Evening with Glenn Miller and Friends’ performed by The ConChord Big Band, which is being organised by Mid Sussex District Council and promises to be a most enjoyable evening.

Last but not least, don’t miss out on our ever-popular Jewellery and Gifts which will be on sale at forthcoming events for that bargain Christmas shopping!

Please do get in touch if you have any fundraising events, activities and ideas you’d like to share with us; or if you would like to apply for a grant or to fundraise through Sullivan’s Heroes.

Thank you for your ongoing support, it is greatly appreciated.
