The Grand Order of Lady Ratlings 'Cup of Kindness'

Established in 1929, The Grand Order of Lady Ratlings (GOLR) is a unique showbusiness organisation, welcoming professional performers, wives of Water Rats and Companion Rats, and those directly connected with the theatrical profession.

Lady Ratlings come from all different backgrounds and members include actors, singers, dancers, circus performers, magicians, agents and other people directly connected with TV, film and theatre industry.

Members fundraise for The GOLR ‘Cup of Kindness’ registered charity through producing shows and organising events. Inaugurated in May 1931 with just £50, The Grand Order of Lady Ratlings 'Cup of Kindness' has gone from strength to strength. The aim from the start was to help those in need, both within the Organisation and with worthy causes outside.

Today the Cup of Kindness is keeping up the good work, noticeably in practical ways. A once in a lifetime holiday for sick children, means of transport for people who are disabled or housebound, as well as helping their Sister Ratlings when help is needed. The Cup of Kindness continues to give money for specific items of equipment.

We were delighted at Sullivan’s Heroes to receive support for ‘Building Thomas a Future in Bromley Cross’ – read all about GOLR’s support here.
