Provincial Walsh Trust for Bolton

While the Trust you see today was only formally created in the early 21st Century, Provincial Walsh Trust for Bolton's roots go as far back as the early 1950s.

The Provincial Trust was initially set up following a donation from the Provincial Insurance Company. More recently, the charity was able to expand its reach within Bolton Borough when it merged with the Walsh’s Trust; a charity originally set up to distribute money from the recently sold Walsh’s Institute.

The newly merged trust aims to fund individuals or groups for educational or social benefits. Now with 8 Trustees, all bringing with them a diverse range of experience and knowledge from the charitable public and private sectors; and with an investment portfolio of more than £800,000, the charity looks to help facilitate greater investment in charities, community groups and individuals in the Bolton area.

One such Bolton resident recently receiving support is Thomas – towards his adaptations project ‘Building Thomas a Future in Bromley Cross’ – for which Sullivan’s Heroes and Thomas’ family are most grateful.
