Mid Sussex District Council's Chairman raises £6,000

Our sincere thanks to Mid Sussex District Council, and Councillor Bruce Forbes, who’s generous support over the past two years of his civic service as Chairman have amounted in a fantastic £6,008.45 being raised for Sullivan’s Heroes.

These funds have been raised through a variety of events including Raffles; a Sussex Cream Tea; David Battie’s ‘Potty about Pots’ event and The ConChord Big Band ‘An Evening with Glenn Miller and Friends’.

All the funds raised will be used towards home adaptations for the disabled children Sullivan’s Heroes is supporting, to make a positive difference to the children’s lives.

One family who appreciate only too well the benefits these adaptations provide for their child is Libby and her parents – who’s project was one of the first supported by the charity.

The family were delighted to show Councillor Forbes the beautiful new bedroom, wetroom, through-floor lift and equipment which has been installed to meet Libby’s care requirements safely at home.

Our thanks to everyone involved in this support for Sullivan’s Heroes over the past two years – and we send our best wishes to Councillor Forbes as he steps down from his civic duty in April this year.
