A beautiful safe space created

We are delighted to unveil the latest completed home adaptations project from Sullivan’s Heroes. The beautiful house extension and ‘Room for Jessica’ has been created in just six months, with the £15,000 funds required raised by Jessica’s family, friends and supporting organisations. As Jessica’s Mum explains “Now that we have Jess’s bedroom on the ground floor, she can get to her room safely at all times. The adaptations have made such a positive impact on Jess’ life.”

Other projects have also been moving onwards, to put the disability adaptations in place in various homes. Reuben’s home extension is nearing completion – with support from The Hospital Saturday Fund leaving just £5,000 remaining to be raised to meet the £25,000 target required.

Vinnie’s work is about to start on his loft conversion bedroom and wetroom project; whilst ‘Team William’ have been busy with fundraising activities towards their £40,000 needed to extend the family home to meet William’s needs.

Funds have also been gratefully received from various sources including Treetop Design & Print, The Crown at Turners Hill, Scorpio Worldwide, Family Action and Independence at Home.

Other supporters have been raising funds too, such as Gordon Borer, who generously set up a Facebook Fundraiser for his birthday – if you’re looking to do the same, here’s how!

We were delighted to receive funds of £982 from John Lewis’ Community Matters programme in their Chichester store recently, whilst they continue to feature us in their Southampton store until the end of April – where you can pop your green coin in the box to support us.

Meanwhile Haslar Marina are busy planning their annual Berth Holder Party where they will kindly be raising funds for Sullivan’s Heroes.

And if you’re considering a de-clutter, you can now sell your items on Ebay for Charity for Sullivan’s Heroes, donating anything from 10% up to 100% of your sale. What better reason for a spring clear-out!

Please do get in touch if you have any fundraising events, activities and ideas you’d like to share with us; or if you would like to apply for a grant or to fundraise through Sullivan’s Heroes.

Thank you for your ongoing support, it is greatly appreciated.
