Thank you to everyone at Waitrose Regional Distribution Centre Leyland for their recent fundraising for ‘Team William’ – raising a fantastic £625 towards William’s new wheelchair accessible bedroom and wetroom.

These funds will be used towards the £40,000 required above the Disabled Facilities Grant which has been awarded to William for the works to his house to build an extension to his family bungalow which will accommodate William now and as he grows up.

The project will provide William with a dedicated wheelchair accessible bedroom and wetroom, with a ceiling mounted hoist to ensure he can be moved safely and comfortably.

This new space will adjoin the main living area of the home so William can easily be included in all aspects of family life, and ramped access to outside will also be created for him.

Wheelchair access will be created into and around all the rooms in the home which William uses, allowing him access to areas which are currently impossible for him. This will make daily life much easier and safer for William and his family.

Thank you to everyone involved in helping to fund these vital adaptations, to allow William to enjoy his family home and live there safely and with dignity – and allowing his parents to reduce the worry of how to look after William as he grows, and to celebrate his continued development.
