Thank you to all the staff at BT’s call centre in Blackburn, who’s recent fundraising raised a fantastic £1,400 for ‘Team William’.

These funds raised will be used towards the £40,000 required above the Disabled Facilities Grant which has been awarded to William for the works to his house.

The project involves building an extension to William’s family bungalow which will accommodate William now and as he grows up – providing him with a dedicated wheelchair accessible bedroom and wetroom, with a ceiling mounted hoist to aid moving William safely and comfortably. This new space for William will adjoin the main living area of the home so he can easily be included in all aspects of family life.

Ramped access to outside will also be created for William, together with wheelchair accessibility into and around all the rooms in the home which he uses – all of which will make daily life much easier and safer for William and his family, and allow him to access areas which are currently impossible for him.

Thanks to everyone involved in creating these vital adaptations, to allow William to enjoy his family home and live there safely and with dignity, and allowing his parents to celebrate his continued development without the worry of how to look after him as he grows.
