Yorkshire Times feature ‘Home adaptations for Jude’ and his Godparents’ Yorkshire Peaks Sponsored Walk

We are delighted to see ‘Home adaptations for Jude’ project featured this week in Yorkshire Times.

2-year-old Jude needs a fully wheelchair accessible downstairs bedroom and bathroom and full access adaptations to enable him to be properly cared for at home. This essential extension project requires £50,000 above the Disabled Facilities Grant awarded to meet the target for the works.

As part of this fundraising, Jude’s Godparents Adam and Kelly will be walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks on 24th August, raising funds required for ‘Home adaptations for Jude’ .

Jude's Godfather Adam states:

"Jude is entirely dependent on his family and carers and, as he grows from a being a much-loved baby to a little boy, they need to build him a downstairs bedroom and bathroom with proper lifting equipment and facilities so they can continue to provide care at home in a safe and hygienic environment.”

Adam and Kelly are good friends of Jude’s parents, Steve and Emma. Their own children James and Hope play with Jude and his big brother Fraser. They decided to organise their fundraiser as soon as the family gained planning permission to adapt their home in Ackworth.

Adam continues:

“We hope that we can help to raise the necessary funding that our special godson and his dedicated family need to have their home adapted and so be able to carry on caring for Jude’s everyday needs.”

Jude’s Mum Emma said:

"Having a child like Jude is a huge challenge for us as a family. The support of our friends has been so important over the last few years. The adaptations to our home will make a massive difference to the quality of all of our lives. Good luck Adam and Kelly!"

Our thanks and best wishes from all at Sullivan’s Heroes to Adam and Kelly on their sponsored trek over Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough peaks this coming weekend, raising these vital funds required for Jude.
