As summer commences we’re delighted to bring news of the latest Sullivan’s Heroes adaptations project to conclude – ‘Funding for Georgia’s bedroom and bathroom’.
The extension to Georgia’s family home – providing a ground floor bedroom and bathroom tailored to her needs – is now completed and in daily use by the teenager.

Georgia’s mum elaborates on the benefits this vital transformation has brought about:
“Due to having to move house we did not have an appropriate space for Georgia to be safely cared for. We had no hoist or bathroom on the ground floor so had to carry her upstairs to bath her which was dangerous for us and her, due to her severe epilepsy. Her bed was in the dining room attached to the lounge, so she had no place to have any quiet recovery time. We had no wheelchair access to the house so it was a strain physically getting her up steps into the house.”
“Having a purpose-built area for Georgia has made a huge positive impact on all of our lives as we are no longer struggling in a space not suitable for Georgia’s high level of need.”

The past few weeks have seen many new applicants to the charity, whilst the projects already underway have been progressing well with the finer weather.
Support from ExxonMobil has enabled ‘Stewart's Forever Home’ to complete the final touches on restructuring the family home, creating an accessible ground floor bedroom and bathroom for 7-year-old Stewart.
Meanwhile ‘Teddy’s Space!’ project, to extend the ground floor of the house to create a downstairs bedroom and wetroom for Teddy continues to progress, assisted by generous donations to their fundraising page; as Teddy’s Mum tells us:
“The main part of phase 1 of the build is nearly complete and the space feels incredible. Thank you again to all you kind and wonderful people, who have made this possible for our gorgeous little man!”
‘Amara’s forever home’ is also getting ever closer, creating a safe accessible space for the 8-year-old. Donations from external charities have enabled internal works to progress speedily, while ground preparations for an external platform lift – essential for Amara to access the home – are being carried out concurrently.
We look forward to sharing further updates of these projects and more as they progress over the summer months.
