Independence at Home have kindly provided recent funding towards a specialist sink, which is being installed as part of ‘Rosie’s Accessible Bedroom and Bathroom' adaptations project.
Not only will the building works create a downstairs bedroom and accessible bathroom for 10-year-old Rosie from the current family living room, but a single storey extension added at the back of the house will create a new living room, with level access for Rosie into the back garden.
As we look forward to sharing more news as the project progresses, Rosie has been busy checking out the layout of her new bathroom. The electrics are now in place to power her specialist sink, which will move up and down to make it easier for Rosie to use independently.
“We are very grateful to Independence at Home for contributing towards this specialist sink for Rosie. At school she is able to wash her hands and face independently and help with brushing her teeth so we are really excited that she will soon be able to do the same at home. It will definitely help her confidence and hygiene skills going into her teenage years.”
