A funding boost from B&Q Foundation

We are most grateful to the B&Q Foundation for their recent funding, which will support Sullivan’s Heroes in helping children receive the home disability adaptations they require.

The generous £10,000 award will greatly enhance Sullivan’s Heroes’ capacity to provide grants, helping to cover funding shortfalls – averaging £46,000 per project – to ensure children’s home adaptations can be completed successfully.

The works being undertaken make essential home modifications, including extensions to create accessible bedrooms and wet rooms, together with the installation of ceiling hoists, wheelchair lifts and creating wheelchair-accessible living spaces.

The provision of ramps and improved access both inside and outside the home ensure children can live more safely, comfortably, and with greater independence and dignity, while enhancing their overall quality of life at home.

“At the B&Q Foundation, we believe everyone needs a place to feel at home. So we are putting our efforts behind local charities who share our vision – helping to create better, safer places for the people in our communities who need them most. Sullivan’s Heroes perfectly embodies these values and it gives us all at the Foundation great pleasure to support them.”
