Adapting our home to have a downstairs bedroom and wet room for Reece

Harris-Pinson
High Wycombe

View Reece's completed project here.

The project will make a massive difference as Reece will have his own space to calm down. To not disturb other siblings who he currently shares with. To be able to walk into the shower without stepping into. Toilet/Anxiety when Reece comes straight in from school, will enable him to get to the toilet quicker.

Reece is 11 years old, he has ADHD, ASD, Sensory Processing Difficulties, Sleep problems, Anxiety. He enjoys playing football and talking about players and which teams they play for and how many goals they have scored. Reece doesn't sleep very well which causes disruption to the household. Reece has difficulties with daily living activities in his home environment. Reece requires a downstairs bedroom and wet room due to his specific needs. The funds raised will be added to Wycombe District Council DFG (Disabled Facilities Grant) to complete the adaption project as the DFG does not cover the full cost of Reece's project. Any surplus money will be donated to Sullivan's Heroes so that they can support another family like ours.

Installation of ground floor wet floor shower room and bedroom facilities with access from existing Living Room. Remove stairway wall and replace with handrail and balusters to allow light from upstairs to come into the living room where it will be lost from the build.

I need to raise the outstanding balance of £9,338 on top of the maximum Disabled Facilities Grant awarded by Wycombe District Council.

The project starts on Tuesday 30th May for approximately 11 weeks.
